The scope included an interconnecting staircase, a brand-new super hub kitchen, open-plan workstations, commercial kitchen, tea points, collaboration spaces, meeting rooms and multiple boardrooms overlooking Sydney and Darling Harbour. Throughout the floor, the client requested timber veneer and perforated wall panelling, and timber battened feature ceilings with LED lighting and a marble stone plinth. The acoustic pod ceiling detail and the stair design were clear architectural standouts and the centrepiece of the fitout – designed to represent a tree trunk.
This project included the acoustic design with ceilings and partition walls as well as achieving a 6-star Green Star rating. Our team worked closely with the acoustic consultant to come up with a design solution which eventually met the acoustic and Green Star criteria. Engaging subcontractors early allowed us to eliminate uncompliant materials and provide value engineering options which met with the architect’s design intent. With a highly detailed scope and challenges along the way, the project ran smoothly and was handed over on time to the client.
