The scope of works included the installation of a high level suspended access catwalk (and the associated power and data requirements to the theatre), and a functional and aesthetic refurbishment of the foyer and café area that resembled the structure of the old theatre.

Handover of the theatre was time critical and required completion prior to the café/foyer due to pre-booked theatre performances. Our team ensured the delivery of the theatre was met through frequent consultation and communication with both the client, user group and subcontractors. This involved daily monitoring of the construction programme and regular site inspections with the user group to ensure the catwalk was installed correctly. To minimise disruption to students and occupants, our team planned and scheduled works on weekends and out of hours to ensure the best possible experience.

Safety was vital, and our team worked closely with the QUT Health & Safety team to develop an effective safety plan and incorporate all QUT’s requirements.
